Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in the French city of Puy-de Domme on August 9 1976 the eldest child of four. From a very young age, her dental doctors parents and teacher mother supported Audrey's love of drama and theater. This passion which trumped her original desire to be the first primatologist. At the age of a young lady, her rise to stardom was swift and ended with initial success. Before she began to pursue her acting career, she was a participant in Jeunes Premiers which was a French television show that sought to find talent sponsored by Canal+ in 1998. She also won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. Tautou was a member of the church as well as the Institut Catholique de Paris during her childhood, but she has since gotten rid of these upbringings. The modeling and acting careers of Tautou have been interspersed. She became the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc Chanel, and is often referred to as The Chanel Muse. She also has a serious interest in photography and recently produced an exhibition of her work at the Arles Festival, titled Superficial. Her photography is focused on celebrities, fame and the media that scrutinised her after her fame-making debut as Amelie. There are also numerous photographs of herself. Audrey Tautou shot to stardom and international fame with her first major role starring as the lead in the film Le Fabuleux Destin de l'Amelie Poulain. Amelie gained international attention due to its success at the box office. It also received praise during awards ceremonies around the world. It remains the highest grossing French language film in the US. The film's success led to a huge increase in production. Tautou was later cast in many films which included British dramas such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things and Jean-Pierre Jeunet's Un long Sunday de fiancailles. Also, she starred with Tom Hanks in Ron Howard's The Da Vinci Code directed by Dan Brown.
