Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born on November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 in an Olympic event. Bela Karalyi was introduced to Comaneci when she was six. Comaneci would go on to be Romania's gymnastics coach. Comaneci participated for the first time in the national junior championships, placing 13th. Following that, she became champion. The first time she competed in an international competition that was a preolympics junior competition for nations in the Communist bloc, she won 3 gold medals. In 1973 and 1975 she was awarded the All-around Junior Champion. In 1975, she won 4 gold and 1 silver in her first senior international competition. Lyudmila Torishcheva was a five-time European champion. The first female to do a reverse double salo on the parallel bar that was uneven when she won the American Cup, New York City 1976. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. As a teenager she was performing on travelling shows such as Ice Capades as a skater along with her younger sibling Nina Wayne. Carol Marie Wayne is a United States citizen, born on the 6th of September, 1942, in Chicago Illinois. Carol was a part of the entertainment industry as a teenager. The path she took to success began by joining her sister Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling show of entertainment. They featured dramatic skating on ice shows.
